From VR pioneers to AI-driven marketing

Step by step, project by project — this is how mimo.ooo grew into a future-ready studio.

2015

The Beginning: Poland’s Cinematic VR Pioneer

mimo.ooo was founded with the ambition to blend storytelling with emerging media technologies. In its first year, the studio produced the pilot of “Mismatched”, Poland’s first Cinematic VR series, developed simultaneously in traditional and immersive formats. The team also developed a custom VR camera and proprietary V360 player.

2016-2017

Innovation in Storytelling and Technology

The studio focused on R&D for 360° storytelling and VR postproduction. It completed the full “Mismatched” series (5x5’) and experimental documentaries like “Under Ice”, which submerged a 360 camera into a frozen lake. mimo.ooo produced Poland’s first Cinematic VR commercial – “Carrefour Napoleon VR”, and opened the country’s first VR cinema at Multikino Złote Tarasy.

2018

Theatre in VR and VR Cinema Network

Co-producing the 90-minute “G.E.N VR” with director Grzegorz Jarzyna, mimo.ooo pushed the boundaries of immersive storytelling. The studio also expanded the MultikinoVR by Samsung network in Poland, creating the first chain of dedicated VR cinemas in Europe.

2019

Collaboration with Discovery and Launch of VRcity

Partnering with TVN and DiscoveryVR, mimo.ooo produced “Woman on the Edge of the World VR” and “Old Jerusalem”, two 20-minute immersive documentaries. The studio also launched its VR distribution brand VRcity.

2020

First Use of AI: IKEA Bedroom Configurator

A landmark project: mimo.ooo built a cloud-based bedroom planner for IKEA, integrating AI for the first time in its history. A Python-driven Excel matrix processed 850,000 input variants to produce 16.5 million output options, creating a fully interactive configurator. The system included photorealistic 4K 3D models, immersive UX, and cross-country collaboration.

2021

XR Worlds and Interactive Experiences

mimo.ooo launched Virtual Revolution, a VRChat-connected immersive world and hosted a rave party inside it. It organized Poland’s first XR festival and developed campaigns for PMI, IQOS, CCC, KIR, and more.

2022

Scaling AI and Media Automation

The studio began development on two VR documentary projects: “Via Dolorosa” and “The Way of the Cross”. It also introduced an AI-powered holiday card generator for KIR and created a report series on the fourth industrial revolution for player.pl.

2023

AI Meets Broadcast

mimo.ooo produced the world’s first AI-generated TV commercial for Adamed’s Maxon Forte, featuring Max, an AI-generated seduction coach. The studio also co-led production on “The Way” – an animated VR educational series merging AI, XR and cultural storytelling.

2024

Benchmark Year in AI-Driven Content

mimo.ooo delivered a 6-part AI-generated Black Week campaign for Komfort, balancing automation and emotional storytelling. It also produced the “Komfort – Satisfaction” campaign – blending motion capture, Unreal Engine 3D, and AI-generated visuals, setting a new benchmark in hybrid production. For Orlen, it reinvented product photography by combining traditional shots with AI-generated backgrounds. The team also launched the Content AI Creator platform – a step toward full campaign automation.
